Our Services

Graphic Design: Our goal is to provide cutting edge designs, including identity, web interface, brochures, catalogs, package design, logos and any other collateral materials you may need.

Printing: We oversee commercial printing and assist in selecting appropriate materials, colors and designs to meet deadlines and print budget.  If you prefer a print style that captivates your audience by providing a tactile effect, we can create invitations, business cards and coasters on our antique platen letterpress.

Photography: We coordinate and execute studio and on-location photo shoots to provide images that speak to your target audience.

Why use Scotty W Creates?

We want to help you make money, not take it. We have no hidden fees. No over the top rates. We'll work with you and your budget and only offer solutions that fit within it.

We travel so you don't have to. Design is a visual touch and feel thing, so why not meet in person? Our initial face-to-face meeting is the foundation on which the success of the project is based.

Relax, we don't bite. It's our goal to make this as painless a process as can be. Design is fun and your experience with us will be too. We include you every step of the way and help guide you to your goal...a return on investment.

Time is money. It's Business 101. The faster you can get to market, the better your returns. We don't waste your time with pointless questions and trivial hoops. Once we get a completed project brief, we get to work, and you have initial concepts within 5 business days.

Excellence is expected. You hired us for our skill and talent, and that's what you'll get. All of our designers, writers, photographers and third party vendors are very skilled, and highly respected within the community. If you're not happy, we're not happy. We like to be happy.

Spec Work

We at Scotty W Creates do not participate in speculative projects, otherwise known as 'spec work.' We're not alone in this. Quite a few designers are realizing that this type of business practice hurts the personal designer, the community a large, and ultimately the client.

'Spec work' invariably leads to frustration for you and encourages a sub-par standard of work from the designers. Why?

From a business point of view, it makes no sense for the client. Agencies have to charge higher fees to cover work they produce but don't profit from. If you choose an agency that does spec work, you are paying for all their failed pitches as well as the one piece of work you are interested in.

A good design is an informed design. This only comes through research and collaboration with the client — you know your audience best. A visually pleasing ‘best guess’ created upfront as part of a sales tactic is never a good design. Anything created without being informed is, at best, a pretty picture.

Unlike advertising agencies, we are not in the business of selling. We love our work and enjoy showing off the diversity of work we’ve created (please ask to see our portfolio!) That’s because every project is crafted with thought and research, and with respect for our clients. We put all our resources into each and every client because we don’t need to save our best ideas to sell ourselves to potential new clients.

We aren’t unusual in our position on declining to partake in speculative work. Here are some links to just a few respected industry colleagues who feel the same way, and why:

We understand you want to get the best work possible for your project, so we hope you accept our reasons for declining spec work.
